Rising Scottish sensation Ellijai (pronounced Ellie-Jay) is back with her most powerful track yet. The 16-year-old singer-songwriter from Glasgow is set to release her third single Get Real Get Feel on Friday 13 September.
This high-octane anthem is a bold departure from her previous work, showcasing a raw, unfiltered energy that marks a new chapter in her musical journey.
Get Real Get Feel is a rallying cry for authenticity in the digital age, cutting through the noise of social media. Ellijai has drawn inspiration from the fierce edge of Paramore, the grit of Wolf Alice, and the anthemic power of Foo Fighters and has created a stand-out track with driving beats, fierce guitar riffs, and her own electrifying vocals. This new single takes a fearless stand against the pressures of curated perfection and superficial validation.
The song was born out of late-night writing sessions in Ellijai’s room, inspired by the endless scroll of social media and the unrealistic ideals it perpetuates. Get Real Get Feel tackles the darker side of online culture, shining a light on the hidden struggles behind the carefully curated images we see on our screens. Ellijai’s lyrics are a wake-up call to those who feel trapped by the superficiality of social media—a reminder that it’s okay to be vulnerable, to feel, and to live beyond the confines of a digital facade. The single is a defiant message for a new generation of social media users.
Ellijai said: “This track is my way of saying forget the filters and fake smiles—let’s get real about what we’re feeling. I wanted to write something that speaks to the pressure we all feel to look and act a certain way just to feel ‘seen’ or ‘liked’. Get Real Get Feel is about rejecting that fake digital world and embracing your true self.”
Ellijai’s musical journey began at the age of seven, and her passion for songwriting has only grown stronger. With her self-composed relatable lyrics and a captivating voice, she’s quickly establishing herself as a talent to watch. Her previous releases, including the delicate All of my Hours have already garnered attention for their emotional depth and lyrical maturity.
Get Real Get Feel is a bold statement from a young artist who’s unafraid to speak her truth. This track is sure to cement Ellijai’s place as a voice for her generation—a voice that’s unafraid to challenge the status quo and inspire others to do the same.
Get Real Get Feel will be available to download and stream from Friday 13 September 2024 via https://ellijai.ffm.to/getrealgetfeel.
